Abstract Geological radar is a modern high and new technology whose principle lies in utilization of propagation regularity of high - frequency eletromagnetic wave in underground media to conduct exploration and inspection. The present paper has made a preliminary discussion on the role played by geological radar at various stages of highway construction; with emphasis given to basic interpretation theory on non - destructive inspection of highway quality. Some application examples are also given.
