Abstract After a, brief introduction of the tentative airborne gamma spectral survey performed in recent years in oil and gas reconnaissance, this paper, using measured lerge-scale, large-area airborne gamma energy spectral data, makes a statistical analysis on characteristics of airborne gamma spectral survey in 62 oil and gas fields within 5 known oil-producing zones of East China, the emphasis being laid on the correlation between known oil-gas fields and redioactive fields as well as on association regularity of radioactive elements in known oil and gas fields. With such a statistical analysis as the prerequisite, combined with a discussion on several known redioactive oil and gas anomalies such as Shnanghe, the paper also preliminarily analyses the test results of airborne gamma energy spectral survey in oil and gas reconnaissance.
