Abstract Based on the empirical relationship of electrical properties to lithologiccharacters and mineralization intensity and according to the pattern of sedi-mentary facies reflected by plan electrical property distribution characteristicsof equi-apparent resistivities at different polar distances of electrical sounding, integrated drilling-geological data and logging curves, it is inferred that theevolution of the Yellow River alluvial fan from deep to shallow (or from oldto young) is characterized by the gradual increase in size with the areaapproximately from 11800 km2 through 52000 km2 to 66700 km2.
