This paper deals mainly with the possibility of applying Dfunction lawto geochemical oil-gas prospecting. In the light of distribution characteristicsof Dfunction in natural drainage system and using the basic theory forgeochemical oil-gas prospecting-vertical migration hypothesis, it makes anapproach to the formation mechanism of Dfunction law in geochemical oil-gasprospecting.
