Abstract Geophysical survey for determining sites of three proposed nucJear powerstations on the northern bank of Hamgzhou Bay is briefly described in thispaper with the emphasis on the geophysical work conducted at three stages ofsite determination and the major problems geophysical survey has solved. Theresults of applying integrated geophysical methods to the study of such siting-related aspects as regional and deep-seated structures, various sorts of fracturesincluding regional and active fractures, seismic activities and the dynamic para-meters of rock and soil body at the sites are also presented with an analysisgiven concerning the feasibility of establishing nuclear power stations on thenorthern bank of Hangzhou Bay.
