Abstract Because of numerous interference factors in stimulating, receiving and propagating processes, the waveform of the reflected wave is distorted in the data, which will affect the quality of the stacking section. Therefore, waveform correction is the chief factor which should be considered before stacking. This paper brings forward the pseudomultichannel matching method aiming at remedying some defects in the single channel matching method. The proposed method has higher precision in amplitude, phase and travel time, and can acquire good effect in the low signal-to-noise data.In addition,it can gain waveform fidelity and improve the quality of the stacking section. Its validity and applicability have been proved by the processing of seismic data.
