Abstract For the construction of the airborne geophysical test site in China sponsored by National 863 Major Projects,the authors carried out a detailed investigation of airborne geophysical tests conducted abroad,and summarized particularly the site selection requirements,the construction scheme and its application to "Reid-Mahaffy Airborne Magnetic and Electromagnetic Geophysical Test Site in Ontario,Canada.The investigation provides an important inspiration for the construction of the airborne geophysical test sites in China.
