Abstract With the success examples of applying the transient electromagnetic method to detecting water-rich anomalous areas on the top and the floor of the main coal-mining bed in the southwestern ore district of Pingdingshan, this paper investigated the applying effect of PROTEM67D system in detecting geological bodies with the buried depth over 1000 m. It is held that, before the acquisition of the outwork data, the choice of suitable work parameters through test is the prerequisite and the important guarantee for fulfilling the exploration of the deep anomalous body.
