Abstract Since July 1, 2008, the CGCS2000 Coordinate System has been employed in China; nevertheless, Beijing Coordinate System of 1954 remains its utilization in geological and mineral departments. For the purpose of realizing the effective sharing of graphic document achievements of different coordinate systems, the transformation of geological, geophysical and geochemical exploration graphic documents must be carried out in different coordinate systems. This paper describes the inter-conversion method of graphic document achievements in different coordinate systems by using MapGIS. The transformation precision was analyzed with the real data. The test result indicates that the method used in the graphic document transformation of different coordinate systems is completely feasible.
