Abstract In order to search for deep oil and gas reservoirs, this paper puts forward the high-power pseudo-random signal IP method using the device of dipole-dipole. An introduction to the method was made together with its way of working. This frequency domain method led to the obtaining of promising results in the northeast of Inner Mongolia. By using the method, deep IP anomaly can be detected rapidly and precisely. This method is therefore very effective in oil and gas exploration.
