Abstract The alluvial fan is a common oil and gas reservoir with a significant seismic response characteristics.Using the frequency-wave number domain numerical simulation method, the authors performed a two-dimensional model simulation in two representative directions of the alluvial fan,and made use of the procedure of the combination of seismic forward simulation and the depth migration process to obtain the seismic response characteristics of the alluvial fan in two-dimensional time profile, thus providing a testing means for improving the correctness of the results of the alluvial fan geographic explanation.
