Abstract A method was designed for detecting trace helium, neon and hydrogen by means of gas chromatography. The detection of trace helium, neon and hydrogen was realized through back-blowing principle to protect the molecular sieve column. The analytical method established has the advantages of large measurement range, high sensitivity, short analysis time, long service life, and easy operation, thus having a good application prospect. This method was used to detect the non-hydrocarbon gases in the near-surface soil gases over Huangqiao helium reservoir, and the result proves its effectiveness.
