    THE ADVANCES IN GEOCHEMICALPROSPECTING WORK
    Li Shanfang
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1989, 13 (5): 333-346.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (1405KB) ( 728 )

This paper makes a review on several important aspects of geochemical prospecting work (both production and research work) performed by various units affiliated to Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, which include effectiveness of geochemical prospecting, geochemical prospecting for gold deposits, analytical instruments and methods, mercury vapor survey and advan ces in research work of geochemical prospecting. It describes in detail the breakthrough in the geochemical gold prospecting work:in the past ten years, using geochemical prospecting method, the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources has already discovered 277 gold occurrences and deposits, of which 62 are proved to be economic gold deposits. The numbers of silver, lead, zinc, tungsten, molybdenum, tin, mercury, antimony and barite deposits also obvious-sly incrense. The new advances in analytical methods for geochemical prospe cting have not only raised the efficiency of geochemical ore prospecting, but expanded the application fields of geochemical prospecting as well. Some successful case histories of geochemical ore prospecting are also given in this paper.

LOGGING AND BOREHOLE GEOPHYSICAL PROSPECTING:REVIEW AND PROSPECTS
    Cai Bolin
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1989, 13 (5): 381-385.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (909KB) ( 424 )

This paper makes a brief review of the development of logging andborehole geophysical prospecting work conducted by various units affiliated toMinistry of Geology and Mineral Resources in the past 40 years, especially inthe last 10 years. In methnds and techniques, the collection system has deve-loped from semiautomatic and automatic analog recording to digital recording, the methods and borehole instruments have increased from several sorts totens of sorts with the gradual realization of seriation and combination, andthe graduation technique has growll out of nothing, indicating that our workhas entered the stage of digitization. In method application and softwaredevelopment, the logging has successfully extended its application flom coalfi-eld to more than twenty types of ore deposits, the borehole geophysicalprospecting has expanded its utilization from metallic deposits to the fields ofhydrological engineering and environmental geology and thus yielded goodgeological effects and economic benefits, and the software development hasgrown from its first-step work to the in-situ operation and management, datacollection, interpretation and mapping as well as indoor further proccessing, interpretation and mapping and imaging in combination with the CT techni-que. All these achievements demonstrate that our work has possessed somecharacteristics of modern borehole geophysical techniques. finally, the paperpredicts the prospects of the work.

    ADVANCES IN FNGINEERING SEISMIC EXPLORATION
    Zhang Shihong
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1989, 13 (5): 391-391.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (486KB) ( 867 )

The engineering seismic exploration in China has experienced a quite long developmental period. At the beginning of 1980's, with the emergence of signal-intensification type shallow-layer seismograph, the engineering seismic technique made remarkable advances in China. Since then, shallow - layer transverse wave reflection, urban engineering investigation and shallow-layer seismic survey in water areas have been developed and utilized one by one, and begin to play an active role in some important engineering projects in China.

THE INDUCED POLARIZATION METHOD IN THEPROSPECTING FOR OILGAS RESERVOIRS:ITSAPPLICATION BASIS AND APPLICATION EXAMPLES
Zhang Saizhen, Shi Kunfa, Zhou Jiping, Huang Junmin
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1989, 13 (5): 392-400.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (1140KB) ( 561 )

This paper gives a brief account of the research results gained in the aspect of application basis of induced polarization method for finding oil-gas reservoirs. These outcomes are based on lots of surface test and investigation and systematic analysis of geophysical, geochemical as well as petrological and mineralogical characteristics of shallow strata both inside and outside the oil district. It deals emphatically with some typical application examples and results of applying induced polarization method to the prospecting for oil-gas resources. Finally, a discussion is given on some troubles encountered in the work and some problems which deserve noticing in future work.
