Abstract In order to realize the high precision surveying in regional gravity survey as well as the transformation of different systems of coordinates, this paper describes a method for refining the local quasi-geoid and develops software to realize conversion from the GPS geodetic height to normal height. The conversion precision is ±5.57 cm by the external check using 26 benchmarks, which can completely meet the requirements of elevation precision in gravity survey.
