Abstract The choice of appropriate test methods in survey of goaf must be suitable for different ground conditions. The authors conducted goaf exploration in a coal mine of Inner Mongolia by using the high density resistivity method and shallow seismic comprehensive geophysical prospecting method. The results show that the two geophysical methods are effective in the comprehensive detection of the coal goaf area.
