Abstract Based on an integrated study of 90 airborne geophysical anomalies in a certain area of Mongolia, the authors inferred that quite a few of them are caused by skarn magnetite deposits. Surface anomaly inspection and engineering verification reveal that five of these anomalies are related to magnetite deposits. A preliminary estimation shows that ore reserves in the five anomaly districts can reach a hundred million tons or so.
