Abstract This paper has briefly discussed working principles of the electromagnetic system, the digital transmitter and the multi-frequency digital transmitting technology, and also dealt with the application of digital transmission to the electromagnetic system. The technical performance and survey capability of the electromanetic system have been greatly improved by introducing the up-to-date digital transmitting technology, which reduces the weight of the system, increases the flexibility and lowers the system drift and noise level.
