Abstract The utilization of new regional geochemical exploration methods in forest-swamp areas has widened the application of regional geochemical data and enabled these data to be used in basic geological survey. Based on regional geochemical surveying results of Shalanzhan sheet, the authors deal with in this paper the application of regional geochemical data to basic geological survey in the light of element associations, surface enrichment coefficients of elements, element content ranges and petrogeochemical data.
