Abstract This paper has discussed and analyzed the anomaly spreading phenomena in high density electric survey, and put forward the return-to-the-original-position method by means of correlation analysis. The calculation indicates that the return-to-the-original-position method is of great significance in the interpretation of complex anomalies, as evidenced by the application of the return-to-the-original-position method to sphere and plate on Pole-Pole and Wenner-alpha arrays.
