Based on the theory of electrical exploration, this paper reports the procedure of applying the high power IPmethod to the new round of ore prospecting work in the Ermi copper ore district, which has led to the discovery of new orebodies. It is pointed out that, under the guidance of the new metallogenic theory, we can surely achieve satisfactory ore-prospecting result so long as we study thoroughly geological and geophysical conditions of the working area, choose proper geophysical techniques, and arrange the work in a rational way.
