Abstract Ranking of regional geochemical anomalies in southeastern Hubei was made by means of anomaly normalized planar metal quantity together with an analysis of their compositonal characteristics and distribution regularity.It is pointed out that ranking with this technique may help to raise the efficiency of regional anomaly examination and discover new ore prospecting clues.
