With the Laoyanghao gold ore district in Inner Mongolia as the test base, the present paper, using air-extracting geogas in prospecting for concealed gold deposits within shallow overburden of arid desert areas. On the basis of test data, the paper deals tentatively with some problem existent in air-extracting geogas survvey. It is pointed out that air-extracting geogas survey suffers from interference of dust particles and that, in multielement geogas survey for concealed gold deposits, the results will be better when foamed plastic of 0.22 μm mesh millipore filter membrane is used to perform adsorption. Data available demonstrate that ultramicrograined particles (close to the order of nm) might migrate upward from orebodies at the depth.
