Abstract:Field gamma ray spectrometry, as a method of geophysical exploration, is tentatively used to look for fluorite deposits in the buried and the half buried areas. Profile measuring of the Saiboluogoumen fluorite deposit in Linxi area of Inner Mongolia and analyzing the effectiveness of gamma ray spectrometry measurements in the prospecting for fluorite deposits revealed significant abnormal low radioactive values in the study area. The authors also analyzed the abnormal reaction under different geological conditions, and the results prove that gamma ray spectrometry is an efficient and fast means in prospecting for fluorite deposits in half-covered coverage areas.
