Based on a systematic study of geological and geochemical characteristics of the producing area of the Anji white tea in Zhejiang Province, the authors hold that local landform, parent rock and element combination have all exerted deep influence on the composition and quality of the tea. Different rock types and landforms result in different soil types and textures, different chemical elements as well as different tea qualities. It is thus suggested that Anji white tea should be grown in sandstone or rhyolite-parent rock areas distributed in hills and low mountains within the eastern and middle part of Anji County.
