Abstract: This paper recounts some extensively existent tendencies in quantitativeinterpretation of regional long-wave aeromagnetic anomalies for workers ofquantitative interpretation to pay attention to. These tendencies include: (1)the lack of enough knowledge about possible shapes of the model for anomalyprovenance; (2)the neglect of the multi-solubility of inversion problem and theapplication prerequisite of inversion method; (3) some trouble-bearing me-thods for anomaly examination and inversion resultina from application ofprobability and statistical theory at will. These tendencies are concerned pri-marily with the correctness of the interpretation methods. If a wrong methodis adopted, it is impossible to obtain correct and reliable geological data.
