    LI Hong-Xiang, LIN Gao-Yuan
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 379-388.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (1075KB) ( 750 )

Based on systematic sampling and analysis along the vertical profiles of two skarn (diopside-vesuvianite skarn and

fluorite-diopside skarn) eluvial weathering crusts on the exocontact zone of the granite in the Cuomolong tin-polymetallic ore

district with an environment of high mountain and sparse bush meadow, the authors detected the supergene activity sequence of the

elements in the skarn eluvial weathering crust of the high and cold lake area and investigated their common and specific supergene

geochemical characteristics as well as the major ore-controlling factors. CaO and F have been drastically leached out, whereas K

2O, Na2O, SiO2, P2O5, Sr and TFe are obviously accumulated. Bi, Cu and As, which are very high in parent rocks, have been

leached out in most weathering crusts. TFe has been leached out from organic-rich weathering crusts and separated out from organic-

low weathering crusts through oxidation. Al2O3, TiO2, Sn and Be are very active in the supergene zone, and Sn has been

strongly leached out. Al2O3, MgO, Zn, B and Hg have been either leached out or accumulated, assuming different supergene

behaviors. Ag and Mo, which are abundant in parent rocks, show much less activity capacity in the organiclow overlying eluvial

weathering crust than in the organic-high overlying eluvial weathering crust.

CHARACTERISTICS OF As,Sb,Mn AND Zn IN GOLD DEPOSITSOF CHIFENG DISTRICT, INNER MONGOLIA
    HU Bao-Qun, BAI Li-Hong, LI Man-Gen, MENG Xian-Yun
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 389-394.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (350KB) ( 782 )

This paper has studied As,Sb,Mn and Zn characteristics of different rocks and minerals as well as soils in gold deposits

of Chifeng area and briefly discussed the formation processes of their anomalies. It is shown that the primary anomalies of As are

low and wide, those of Sb are narrow and high, and those of Mn and Zn assume the zoned form. All these four elements do not show

obvious vertical zonation, and the Sb content is far richer in galena than in other sulfide minerals. It is also discovered that

these elements are richer in soils than in rocks, but they tend to be uniform in soils above the rock, altered rocks and ores, which

obviously decreases their indication significance for gold deposits in this area.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 395-399.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (468KB) ( 1050 )

〖WT5”BZ〗Based on measured data of rock samples from Hetang Formation in northwest Zhejiang Province, this paper gave

the average values of such elements as  Pt, Pd, Au, Ag, Cu, As, Sb, Pb, Mo, Ni, V, P, U, B, Cd, Tl, Se and Zn in the black shales of

Hetang Formation, and dealt with the rockforming environment and the influence of high element contents on the environment

according to the partitioning models of trace elements and rare earth elements. The Hetang Formation is enriched with quite a lot of

elements: abundant Mo, Se, Cd, Ag, Sb, U, As and P, subordinate V, B, Cu, Tl and Zn, and small amounts of Au, Pt, Pb and Ni. An

integrated geological and geochemical study has revealed that there exists oreprospecting potential for Mo, P, V and nonferrous

metals in black shales of the Hetang Formation.

    Abstract   HTML   PDF (491KB) ( 1691 )

According to electric differences between the bauxite layer and the wall rock, the authors applied such electric

techniques as intermediate gradient method, IP sounding method and highdensity resistivity method to the prospecting for concealed

bauxite deposits in western Henan. The application of the model combining geophysical exploration with drilling has reduced the

exploration cost and speeded up the exploration work in the ore district.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 403-405.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (532KB) ( 1082 )

With the combined profile method, the author inferred the existence of NEtrending and WEtrending fault structures in

the logistics base of the Huanghua International Airport, with the former fault structure displacing the latter one. An analysis of

ρs variability suggests that there exists strong shattering at the compounding place of the fault structures, which is thus the

ideal position for underground water accumulation. IP sounding revealed the depth of the karst segment and the water accumulation

degree. Drilling test at the anomaly point determined by geophysical exploration shows that the outflow of water has reached over 2

    000 m3/d.

ZHANG Yu-Lian, XU Rong-Ke, SHAN Liang, CAO Liang
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 406-410.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (1226KB) ( 1120 )

The prospecting for porphyry copper deposits in Beishan area has been paid much attention by geologists in China.

Gongpoquan, an important porphyry copper deposit, was discovered in Beishan area, and many geological prospecting companies have

recently made remarkable breakthrough in the ore-prospecting work in periphery and deep-seated areas, and hence the reserves of

Gongpoquan are being gradually increased. Using the regional geochemical data obtained in the ore field, the authors studied the

regional metallogenic geological and geochemical setting and the distribution regularity of the ore-forming element association

(Cu, Ag, Au), the indicator element associations (Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-C and W-Mo-Sn-Bi), and the metallogenic environmental element

associations (U-P-F;Fe-V-Ni-Cr). On such a basis, this paper puts forward a regional geological-geochemical structural model for

the Gongpoquan porphyry copper deposit, which is of some significance in enriching and improving the related theoretical models.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 417-423.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (1980KB) ( 660 )

Chemostratigrphil characteristics of Mg, Ca, Sr, δ13C and δ18O can clearly quantify lithofacies of Middle Devonian

strata along the Liujing section. Within the biostratigraphic framework, these characteristics make possible the highresolution

partition and regional highresolution correlation of the Middle Devonian strata. The sedimentary environment of Middle Devonian

Najiao Formation is characterized by three times of alternate shoalrear lagoon and vaporizing foreshore, and that of Mintang

Formation and Lower Gubi Formation is the reefrear slope. These chemostratigrphic characteristics are consistent perfectly with

those of sedimentary facies and biofacies. Chemostratigraphic data of Najiao Formation also show that dolomite should not be hastily

excluded from the chemostratigraphic study. The finegrained dolomite and powder crystal dolomite, especially the thinlayered and

laminated dolomite, deserve further proper studies.

    TAN Dai-Ming
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 436-439.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (625KB) ( 1071 )

In order to investigate the discipline of induced eddy propagation in surrounding rock underground wholespace and the functional relation between the response of transient electromagnetic underground wholespace, wall rock resistivity and time, the authors computed the response of wholespace by using numerical simulation. The relation between the response and the resistivity of the wall rock was obtained by fitting the response curves of nine surrounding rocks drawn at the same time. The relation between the response and the time was obtained by fitting the response curves with time at the late stage. The ratio between the amplitude of the wholespace and that of the halfspace was obtained by comparing their amplitudes. The results show that the radius of the eddy ring maximum in the wholespace is smaller than that in the halfspace projected on the surface. The radius of the response decays with 1.5 powers to the resistivity of the wall rock, the response decays with 2.5 powers to the time, and the amplitude of the wholespace is 1.94 times that of the halfspace.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 440-443.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (2919KB) ( 892 )

Shallow seismic reflection survey is more complex than conventional oil exploration because of coherent and random noise, and the most important factors connected with this method are high S/N ratio and high resolution. This paper deals with the key technique of the portable vibrator system, whose correlation and tapper processing can restrain random noise and improve resolution greatly. The vibrator seismic source is of longer duration and generally lower amplitude than dynamite sources, with relatively less damage to ground and nearby structures. Field practice has demonstrated that the portable vibrator system can indeed serve as a nondestructive, controllable and highresolution technique. This technique has already been applied successfully  in the field of hydrology as well as civil and environmental engineering.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 444-447.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (451KB) ( 967 )

Based on a systematic study of geological and geochemical characteristics of the producing area of the Anji white tea in Zhejiang Province, the authors hold that local landform, parent rock and element combination have all exerted deep influence on the composition and quality of the tea. Different rock types and landforms result in different soil types and textures,  different chemical elements as well as different tea qualities. It is thus suggested that Anji white tea should be grown in sandstone or rhyolite-parent rock areas distributed in hills and low mountains within the eastern and middle part of Anji County.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 448-452.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (423KB) ( 853 )

Chinese herbal medicines produced in different areas are different remarkably in their effective chemical composition, which is attributed to different climates, soil types and geologicalgeochemical environments of their producing areas. Based on geochemical mapping of stream sediments in whole China, the authors studied content characteristics of 39 kinds of elements or oxides in more than 30 important producing areas of genuine Chinese herbal medicines. The results show that soils in different producing areas of Chinese herbal medicines are different very obviously in chemical composition, and the pharmacological nature is closely related to the geochemical background of the producing area: the nearer the producing areas, the closer their geological and geochemical characteristics, and the more similar their medicine properties. The achievements of this study are of considerable guiding significance in the appraisal of Chinese medicine producing areas, the choice of planting bases, the safety evaluation of heavy metals and the modernization of the traditional Chinese medicine.

    XIONG Zhang-Qiang, TANG Sheng-Song, ZHANG Da-Zhou
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 453-457.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (2025KB) ( 1992 )

The algorithm of the finite difference oforder velocitystress staggered grids has been built, which is

suitable for the perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary for elastic media. Meanwhile, the construction of the

PML absorbing boundary condition and the realization of the finitedifference algorithm are discussed in detail. Wave

field modeling calculations show that, compared with the conventional decaying exponential absorbing boundary and non

absorbing boundary, the PML absorbing boundary can perform absorption much more clearly and absorb the boundary

reflection from various angles, whose absorptivity (the ratio of absorption energy to unabsorbable energy) can reach

99.99%. The PML absorbing boundary can well eliminate the periodic folding effects, which makes the calculation of the

wave field characteristics very distinct, and the Rayleigh wave can be clearly shown in the waveform record.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 458-461.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (2724KB) ( 864 )

The 2.5-D quasi-cylindrical method has been proposed recently for simulation of 2.5-D case. The remarkable

advantage of the quasi-cylindrical approach over the common cylindrical approach is that it can deal with non

rotationally symmetric situation, aiming at broadening this range of application. In addition, for largesized surveys

the quasi-cylindrical approach is very efficient as compared with the conventional 2.5-D methods. In this paper, the

authors have developed an implementation of this approach which is based on quasi-cylindrical acoustic wave equation,

using the higher-order staggered finitedifference method. With some numerical examples including axisymmetric and

non-axisymmetric models, this paper demonstrates the validity and feasibility of the authors' approach.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 462-467.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (3274KB) ( 654 )

This paper deals with the theory in which the K-L transform suppresses the noise. Through research and analysis

of the theoretical model, the authors have reached the following conclusion: although the K-L transform filtering can

suppress the inclined coherent signal, it can also blur the fault signal if the characteristic value chosen is not

suitable. It is thus held that, as the noise-suppressing technology can destroy the effective signal, one must be careful

    TANG Xiao-Biao
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 468-471.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (1727KB) ( 934 )

The prediction of oilgas reservoir thickness is a key technology for oilgas reservoir description. Nevertheless, the relationship between the thickness of the reservoir and the seismic information is nonlinear, and hence the present mathematical method can hardly perform the fitting. To solve this problem, the author used a new mathematical statistical method, namely  Support Vector Machine Regression. This paper described the Support Vector Machine Regression and the corresponding analytical methods based on the principle of this technology. On such a basis and with the practical data as an example, the authors successfully predicted the reservoir parameter—the thickness. It is concluded that the technology is feasible and practical.

ZHAO Yu, ZHANG Hui-Li, WU Xiu-Jiang
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 2009, 33 (4): 472-476.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (3087KB) ( 1606 )

In the light of characteristics of seismic interpretation and structural map, this paper deals with a mapping mode for quick production of structural contours by using various kinds of software, such as four processes for calculation of an XYZ data in Excel, automatic creation of a contour map using the gridding method in Surfer, completion of a more logical contour map in AutoCAD, and more perfect processing of the logical contour map in MapGIS. The mapping mode can help reduce the workload, avoid artificial errors, and realize the drawing of structural contours with high precision and efficiency. By producing grid files using five different gridding methods and comparing the results in practical application, this paper gives a quick overview of each gridding method and points out advantages and disadvantages of each method. The five Gridding methods include Triangulation with Linear Interpolation, Inverse Distance to a Power, Minimum Curvature, Radial Basis Function and Kriging. Under most circumstances, kriging is the selected default gridding method because it gives better results for most XYZ data sets. In addition, the merits of AutoCAD relative to MapGIS in editing and revising contours are emphatically discussed.
