High - resistance carbonate rocks that form karst merely show weak absorption of electromagnetic wave; basides; the specific layered deposition environment of carbonate rocks has caused fairly obvious anisotropic phenomena of rocks in carbonate rock areas. The existence of air - earth interface and the distinct interface caused by the obvious difference in electrical properties between media on both sides of the karst cave also lead to intense reflection and scattering of electromagnetic wave. The present paper made a study and analysis of the specific electromagnetic wave propagation phenomena in carbonate areas and; on such a basis; reached some conclusions.
