Using 1,200000 regional geochemical prospecting data, the authors have reached the conclusion that minor element contents of stream sediments can basically reflect the variation trend of element contents in soil. Based on a study of the effects of minor element distribution upon human health and crops, the paper had determined the relationship of the surplus or deficiency of such elements as F, Cu, Sn, MgO, Be, Mn, Ni, Sr and Cd to endemic diseases, and made clear the effects of elements like Zn, Cu, Mo, P, K2O and Mn on crop output. A prognosis has been made concerning the diseases directly related to geochemical environment of this area.
