The geochemical map of northwest Jiangxi on the scale of 1:500,000 has-been compiled on the basis of quantitative analyses of 21 elements or oxides in combination with stream sediment samples collected during the geochemical resur-veying, with each sample representing an area of 4km2. This paper presents the research results of applying this geochemical map to the geological ore prospecting with an emphatic discussion on preliminary evaluation of anomalies, me-tallogenic perspective planning, prediction of vanadium mineralization areas and geochemical division of strata. Various aspects of geochemical information reflected by regional geochemical data are revealed, and considerable quantities of basic geological information, related characteristic indicators and important ore-prospecting clues are provided.
